High-quality information

Reegle operates as a distribution hub for high quality data maintained and provided by leading international sources (currently more than 1000 sources and 9 knowledge partners). This wide range of information in combination with robust quality-management turns reegle in a unique one-stop-shop for clean energy.

Key features of reegle are:

  • Country energy profiles:
For each country a comprehensive set of energy-related information is available on reegle. All data is fetched from high quality sources and datasets include Key Stakeholders, Policy and Regulatory Overviews, Project Outcome Documents as well as statistical data from UN, World Bank, Eurostat and other databases (displayed as graphs). A detailed description of the country and its demographic data rounds up the reegle country energy profiles.

  • Database of key stakeholders:
The reegle “actor’s catalogue” is a directory of organisations involved in clean energy. It contains information on (and links to) more than 1700 initiatives, partnerships and organisations involved in relevant fields. The Catalogue also includes information about the focus, geographical reach and projects of each organisation. Filter mechanisms allow tailoring search results by the type of organisation, countries and sectors (renewable energy, energy efficiency …).  All datasets are available free for re-use in RDF format.

  • Energy and Climate Change Glossary:
The reegle energy and climate change glossary is one of the most comprehensive glossaries (more than 1400 terms) describing  the field of renewables, efficiency and climate change. Most terms are explained in reegle’s wording, enriched by definitions from wikipedia. A visual browser shows how a term is connected through related terms which help understanding the scope of a concept or technology even when there isn’t a definition available. The whole glossary/thesaurus is available free for re-use in RDF format.

  • Clean Energy Web Search:
The reegle clean energy web search provides a unique tool to find high quality information on clean energy. An experienced team of internal experts identify and review all sources covered by the reegle search to ensure optimum quality control. Currently reegle derives information from over 1000 websites in English, Spanish and French providing more than hundred thousands of up to date documents to reegle users. To further increase the quality of results, auto-complete services are offered during typing in search terms and once first results are displayed suggestions for refinements are offered on basis of a constantly developed thesaurus.
