REEEP

Clean Energy Search Engine

High quality, up-to-date information on renewable energy and energy efficiency is often hard to find. In recognising this REEEP and REN21, have come together to form 'reegle', which is a user-friendly and comprehensive information portal and search engine on clean energy policy, regulation and financing

Information provided by reegle

reegle provides information and data on all the various sub-sectors within sustainable energy at a global level. It is designed to be a one-stop-shop search engine for high quality up-to-date information on renewable energy, energy efficiency and on key industry participants (‘Actors’).

The database is both a repository for up-to-date information as well as an entry point into relevant data sources and other key providers of relevant information. reegle's content is derived from data and information found in existing databases covering the following areas related to sustainability:

  • Jurisdiction and laws, policies and measures
  • Finance and Investment opportunities
  • Latest news, reports and analyses
  • Actors and experts

Unrivaled in its field, reegle’s experienced team of internal experts identify and review all sources to ensure optimum quality control and currently feature over 370 websites. Strong links to the existing databases of core ‘Knowledge Partners’ such as the World Bank, IEA and UNIDO have also been established, broadening the overall information offering.

Utilising an intelligent search mechanism to refine and categorise all identifies information sources, reegle translates these via searchable use-friendly features into the user’s search requirements.

reegle has also developed an Actors Catalogue, a directory of organisations involved in clean energy. It contains information on (and links to) more than 1500 initiatives, partnerships and organisations involved in relevant fields. The Catalogue also includes information about the focus, geographical reach and projects of the various Actors.

As an ever evolving enterprise, reegle has recently introduced a frequently updated clean energy blog, developed strong co-operations with carefully chosen conference partners and produced multi-lingual options in French and Spanish.

An exciting new feature is also the map based geoweb project, called "reegle maps" which visualises search type such as news and projects on a global map allowing broad comparisons as well as targeted countries and areas. Searches can be filtered according to sector, for example climate change, energy efficiency and renewables.
