Description:
The Ashden Awards for Sustainable Energy are seeking entries for the 2012 awards. The organisers want to hear from organisations in the developing world and the UK that are increasing use of sustainable energy, reducing carbon emissions and/or changing behaviour to significantly cut energy use.
The Ashden Awards are unique – in addition to receiving substantial cash prizes, winners get a platform to promote their work through video, events and media coverage and are provided with tailored support packages to enable scale up and expansion. Ashden winners gain access to potential investors, funders, policy-makers and other relevant networks. Click here to see the 2011 winners.
Entry is free, and winners will receive £10,000–£20,000 each in prize money for programme development, with two gold awards of £20,000–£40,000. The awards will be presented at a prestigious ceremony in London in May 2012.
The deadline for international applications is 18 October 2011, and for UK and travel award applications, 25 October 2011. Click here for the Ashden Awards website to find out more and to apply for a 2012 Award.
