A direct presence on the ground around the world is one of REEEP's key assets. Our Regional Secretariats cover East Asia, Latin America and Caribbean, North America, Southern Africa, South Asia, South East Asia & the Pacific.
Our Secretariats
REEEP's global network of Regional Secretariats are the organisation's eyes and ears on the ground. They are hosted by highly-respected organisations who share a strong belief in clean energy development. The Regional Secretariats have many functions including:
- ensuring that the Partnership understands and meets the needs on the ground in their area
- assisting applicants during REEEP project funding rounds, and in later stages, helping to evaluate and sharpen shortlisted project proposals
- keeping tuned into national and regional clean energy initiatives, and building strong working links with local offices of NGOs and other like-minded organisations
- supporting REEEP Partners in their respective regions in gaining political leverage and building business acumen
The International Secretariat in Vienna supports the Regional Secretariats in their work, and co-ordinates and develops REEEP's overall international strategy. In addition to its Regional Secretariats, REEEP has two local focal points:
- North Africa, based with the Mediterranean Renewable Energy Programme (MEDREP)
- West Africa, based with the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS)
