The Clean Energy Company

  The Clean Energy Company
Name: The Clean Energy Company (A Companhia de Energia Limpa)
Official Abbreviation: TCEC
Description: The Clean Energy Company: A 'One-Stop Shop' for off-grid micro energy provision.

TCEC offers an integrated package including: site/user assessment, system design, development, installation and maintenance. The modular package will be a combination of energy efficient measures/applications through hybrid renewable energy targeted at reducing electricity consumption, reliance on conventional energy and greenhouse gas emissions.

The technological advantages of hybrid renewable energy systems (such as wind-gen-set, wind-solar and wind-solar PV – gen-sets) offer the user decentralised power that avoids inherent risks involved in individual wind, gen-set of solar PV sources. There is not a ‘one-size-fits-all’ solution for off-grid power supply, and so the TECE's hybrid systems are advantageous as they leave users less vulnerable to the logistical difficulties of getting diesel fuel into the field and allow a degree of ‘backup’ from intermittent renewable energy sources (low solar irradiance and intermittent wind).
Focus and activities:

The focus of TCEC is tailor-made hybrid energy systems: adapted to suit site conditions and user requirements as a turn-key offering. The ability to integrate and/or adapt existing user generators-sets or solar PV installation into a hybrid system can be achieved without expensive retro-fitting. Hybrid systems - wind/photovoltaic, wind/diesel, and other combinations - can often provide the most efficient and cost-effective option for rural electrification. Solar PV, is often used to supplement wind power since PV tends to operate best in low wind months. Diesel generators or deep-cycle batteries can be used in combination for backup power and to maintain power production during low wind seasons/periods. In this way, hybrid systems can be synergistically integrated. This integration can be developed over time (installing individual components to suit customer budgeting requirements) or installed as a single system by introducing modular combinations and educating customers on optimal solutions.
