REEEP

Sub-Networks

At an early stage in REEEP’s development it became clear that that influencing policy on a wider scale is beyond the scope of any individual project. It means working over longer timescales in order to facilitate networking and actual on-the-ground policy changes. The strategic initiatives described here are core parts of that long-term effort.

Long-term initiatives to influence policy and regulation

REILRenewable Energy and International Law (REIL) is an international policy and law network, bringing together the business and finance commnities, policymakers, scholars, lawyers, and science and technology experts to create enabling legislative and policy frameworks for clean energy on the international, national and subnational levels.

SERN – The Sustainable Energy Regulator Network (SERN) acts as a focal point for regulators looking to implement sustainable energy policies. SERN is training and coaching regulators in developing countries on sustainable energy and it is publishing the annual Policy & Regulatory Review report.

EEC – Launched at the UNFCCC event in Bali, the Energy Efficiency Coalition (EEC) aims to provide a voice to coalesce the energy efficiency industry in the international arena. The coalition began by working with Ecofys to establish a global Energy Efficiency Review. Its primary operational focus is on promoting energy efficiency in buildings.
