General Information
However, access to information builds the basis for more relevant and accurate knowledge of the renewable energy and energy efficiency sectors. Access to information also facilitates investments, supports new legislation and regulations and creates new synergies.
The existing information gap on RE and EE therefore led REEEP and REN21 to join hands and work together towards the establishment of a user-friendly and comprehensive information portal on clean energy policy, regulation and financing – reegle (www.reegle.info)
Which Information does reegle provide?
The information gateway provides information and data on all the various sub-sectors within sustainable energy at a global level. reegle is a one-stop-shop for high quality up-to-date information on RE, EE and on key industry participants (‘Actors’). The database is designed to be both a repository for up-to-date information as well as an entry point into relevant data sources and other key providers of relevant information. reegle’s content is derived from data and information found in existing databases covering the following areas related to sustainability:
- Jurisdiction and laws, policies and measures
- Finance and Investment opportunities
- Latest news, reports and analyses
- Actors and experts
reegle’ s "Actors' Catalogue" is a directory of organisations involved in RE and EE. It contains information on, and links to, approximately 850 initiatives, partnerships and organisations involved in these fields. The Catalogue also includes information about the focus, geographical reach and projects of the various Actors.
The “Search by Category” allows the users to find information on specific sectors, countries and types of information. It makes available a full range of information related to RE and EE including jurisdiction & laws, policies & measures, finance & investment, reports & analyses and latest news. This information is made available through a special categorisation system of RE and EE.
The “Intelligent Search” provides closely related topics to help the users refine their searches. This feature is based on a "Mind Map" which was created using state of the art technology and derived from interviews conducted with high level experts on sustainable energy. This enables reegle to help the users to broaden or narrow down their searches.
