Types of membership

Friends of REEEP are individuals with an interest in renewable energy and energy efficiency. Friends enjoy access to REEEP’s community area and have the ability to build a profile describing personal expertise and interests to other members of the green energy community.

Partners of REEEP are organisations, which include governments, businesses, NGOs, financial institutions and other representatives of civil society. REEEP currently has more than 300 Partner organisations, of which 46 are governments.

Benefits as a Friend of REEEP

Friends of REEEP have access to REEEP’s community area with the ability to create a personal profile outlining expertise and interests, so that interested parties can find like- minded individuals/organizations to discuss possible collaborations.

When logging on, the REEEP website system will deliver content and relevant information that is tailored to your own individual interests. Through the community area you will be able to share and access reports, studies, project information and details of other people and organisations involved in promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency.

Benefits as a Partner of REEEP

Organisations that are REEEP Partners benefit from:

1.  Information exchange

In bringing Partners together, REEEP hopes to bring about global change, as solutions can be developed, replicated and refined in accessing and learning from the experiences and expertise other organisations, globally, have undertaken and developed.Partners of REEEP have full access to all the information gathered through the network. All Partners are encouraged to provide mutual support and have access to support and guidance from REEEP’s Regional and International Secretariats.

Internally, through its projects, experts, activities, and diplomacy REEEP itself produces and has access to policy, regulatory and finance models that will be available to help member organisations. Partners also have the opportunity to contribute to publications that REEEP produces.

2.  Promotional and media opportunities

REEEP works to publicise the work of its Partners and both regionally and internationally, through its Secretariats.

REEEP produces a monthly e-newsletter – NewsREEEP, which covers the partnership’s work. NewsREEEP is a collection of interviews, good practice, and other relevant news about REEEP itself and its Partners. Through this forum, Partners are encouraged to highlight and publicise their work and events by providing reports, documents, and articles for publication.

3.  Networking/matchmaking opportunities

Through REEEP’s global network, Partners have the opportunity to network and develop alliances with other organisations who are active in the integration and development of renewable and energy efficiency technologies.  REEEP is also happy to organise facilitated introductions or matchmaking events. In accessing this expert community, organisations can discuss and develop project financing opportunities, and seek advice on accessing different sources of finance.

REEEP also works closely with other organisations within the renewable energy and energy efficiency field. This assists Partners in working with an even wider field of actors.

4.  Further potential

Organisations that are particularly proactive within REEEP will also have the opportunity to develop guidance and contribute to the strategic direction of the partnership.
