Standards and Appliance Labeling Project Tender
Suva, Fiji Islands, 08.03.2010 - James Smith
A Request for Quotations has been put out by SOPAC for a feasibility study for Standards and Appliance Labeling in Samoa and Vanuatu.
The Pacific Islands Applied Geoscience Commission (SOPAC), with the support of REEEP, is carrying out a project on Pacific Island Countries (PIC) Energy Efficiency, Auditing and Appliance Labeling.
The project will primarily progress the implementation of Samoa and Vanuatu's national energy action plans on EE and EC strategies which would contribute to reducing their reliance on imports, improving energy security and bringing the added environmental benefits of reducing green-house gasses.
As part of the project SOPAC plans to undertake a feasibility study on the impacts of introducing an appliance labeling programme in Samoa and Vanuatu through the development of a Standard and Labeling Programme. The feasibility study will encompass an analysis and information collation of selected electrical appliances imported into Samoa and Vanuatu; a re-look at the selected countries legislations on retailers and consumer products (refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners) and a situation analysis on the requirements for pursuing an appliance labeling programme.
Quotations are requested from parties that are willing and able to undertake the services.
