Net zero energy homes will be the topic of the next free REEEP-sponsored webinar on
Thursday October 29, 2009
12:30 - 2pm EDT.

The webinar will examine how more Net Zero Energy Homes (NZEH) can be brought to reality, with a particular emphasis on experience in Canada. Participants will learn how the Drake Landing Solar Community brought stakeholders and funding together, how BeOpt software can assist builders identify optimal building designs for Net Zero Energy, and how Ontario's new feed-in-tariff will be an important financing mechanism that can directly be applicable to NZEH.

The session will be moderated by Gordon Shields, Executive Director of the Net Zero Energy Homes Coalition, Canada and speakers will include:

  • Bill Wong, Drake Landing Solar Community consultant and project manager, will focus on funding, and integrating stakeholders such as builders, governments, utilities, and technology providers.
  • Ren Anderson, US National Renewable Energy Laboratory, will discuss the software.
  • Rob McMonagle, City of Toronto, will discuss Ontario's feed-in-tariff.
