REEEP Participated
Organised by Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland
Location: Dublin
Description:
On July 5th 2011, the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) is hosting a Perspectives from Abroad Seminar on: Ireland’s engagement with the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP): Stimulating the uptake of low carbon technologies in developing countries
Dr. Marianne Moscoso-Osterkorn, Director General of REEEP, alongside Binu Parthan from REEEP and Peter Storey from PPL International will present an overview of:
- REEEP’s activities in developing and emerging markets, highlighting lessons from programmes in Irish priority least developed countries.
- An energy conservation project in Malawi, the focus of the Irish Government’s Offsetting Scheme
- The establishment of a private financing advisory network in sub-saharan Africa
Ireland works together with REEEP to initiate and fund projects that offer the greatest potential for developing the market for sustainable energy. This involves assisting governments in creating favourable regulatory and policy frameworks and promoting innovative finance and business models to activate the private sector.
This event will be of particular interest to professionals working in sustainable energy financing, climate change or carbon markets.
