COP 23 Side Event: Getting the Right Finance for a Low-Carbon Agri-food Sector in Cambodia: Lessons and opportunities for scaling-up

The event at the Energies 2050 Pavilion, organised by REEEP and Nexus for Development, will share the lessons learned from the pilot phase of the Clean Energy Revolving Fund (CERF), a fund supported by the Government of Austria and the Blue Moon Fund, and discuss the potential to scale up finance for clean energy in agrifood value chains.
 

PFAN, ECREEE and CTCN Launch Call for Proposals for Women-led Sustainable Energy Enterprises in West Africa

ECREEE, CTCN and PFAN have launched a call for proposals for women-led sustainable energy enterprises in West-Africa, as part of the CTCN/ECOWAS Project on Mainstreaming Gender for a Climate-Resilient Energy System in West Africa. Women-led businesses employing clean energy solutions to facilitate women's economic empowerment in the ECOWAS countries and seeking investments of up to USD 50 million are invited to apply here by the 27th of November, 2017.

REEEP Annual Report 2017

The 2017 REEEP Annual Report is titled Clean Energy Markets in Motion. It describes how REEEP's approach stimulates community-driven clean energy market development, and introduces major projects and milestones of 2016/17. Highlights include the relaunch of the Private Financing Advisory Network, the launch of the Beyond the Grid Fund for Zambia and the launch of the Climate Change, Clean Energy and Urban Water project in South Africa.

The project “Climate Change, Clean Energy and Urban Water” has entered its implementation phase, as was announced during an event at the Department of Environmental Affairs in Pretoria, South Africa last Friday. The 2.5-year project is funded by the EU, with UNIDO as Implementation Partner and REEEP as Execution Partner. The initiative promotes the market-based deployment of energy efficiency measures and clean energy technologies and services in municipal waterworks, commencing with pilot demonstration projects in South Africa.

Sustainable Milk Cooling – Entry points for clean energy solutions in India's Dairy Value Chain

The project 2017 Business Cases for Milk Cooling (GIZ-REEEP) analyses experiences from dairy value chains in South Asia and East Africa to identify high potential clean energy interventions for increased efficiency and economic opportunity in Kenya and India for milk cooling.
Mission Trip to India (May 22nd – 26th 2017)
Dr. Blane Harvey and I travelled to Delhi on May 21st to spend a week meeting stakeholders from the dairy sector in order to confirm what we learnt from the literature, hear about specific details from those working in the field and to establish relationships for future engagement.
