The Second Conference on Micro Distributed Generation – MICROGERAR, will be held in São Paulo, from 4th to 5th of May 2010. The event organized by RENOVE aims to discuss the public policies and regulations linked to the use of renewable energy on a micro-distributed scale in interconnected systems and stand-alone schemes. In the past, REEEP supported a project implemented by RENOVE.
MICROGERAR will present the latest developments on the subject at Brazil's congress and senate, and will also discuss potential scenarios facing micro-distributed generation with regard to federal government incentives and private initiatives in progress. Technological and industrial policy issues will also be discussed. Specialists from Spain, Portugal, Germany and the United States will present their experiences with their Brazilian counterparts.
Many international companies are engaging with Brazilian partners to better understand market potential. This event will provide up-to-date information and exchange experience.
RENOVE's REEEP-supported project supported pointed out that grid parity should be achieved within the next five to seven years. Several reports were produced to assist decision-makers and Ministry of Mines and Energy staff in the implementation of a Solar PV roof top program.
MICROGERAR addresses diverse legal and regulatory questions surrounding the numerous government and non-government initiatives that interact in the composition of this mosaic, in search of solutions.
Federal, state and municipal level stakeholders will be present at the conferece, together with generation and distribution utilities, NGOs, private sector investors and small and medium equipment suppliers and manufacturers, considering the growing market for these applications in Brazil.
