On 26 to 30 May 2010, the EEC is proud to conduct its first installment of a training programme for architects, in cooperation with HIMIN Solar Group, the Berne University for Applied Sciences and the lQlab in Shenzhen.

In December 2009, REEEP's EEC was fortunate to sign an MoU with the Prof. Huang Ming of the HIMIN Solar Group in China. It was agreed that the EEC and HIMIN would work together to establish a training programme for architects in China, educating them on the benefits of energy efficiency. The first instalment of the training programme will be held at HIMIN’s solar city in Dezhou from 26 to 30 May. The target groups are architects and other professionals of the Chinese construction industry and from local Design Institutes in China.

In order the achieve the highest quality output and to make the programme as academically redeeming as possible, Dr. Marianne Osterkorn was able to bring Prof. Peter Bölsterli, Head of Architecture at the Berne University of Applied Sciences (BUAS), School of Architecture, Civil and Wood Engineering on board. Together with his local team of BUAS' Life Quality Laboratory (lqlab), REEEP and HIMIN were able to establish a sound, comprehensive and highly interesting agenda for the professional audience.

The invited participants will be able to listen to interesting and thought-provoking lectures and discussions from Prof. Huang Ming, REEEP's Deputy Director General, Mr Binu Parthan, Prof. Peter Bölsterli, several Chinese Government officials and experts from academia and the private sector.
