Cities Network Campaign, in partnership with Department of Environment - Government of NCT of Delhi, All India Institute of Local Self Government (AIILSG), WRI India and UNESCO, is organising the South Asian Cities Summit to discuss, debate and develop model solutions for cities in South Asia and explore potential business opportunities.

African Urban Infrastructure Summit

As a result of Africa's rapid economic growth and population expansion, over a third of African inhabitants currently live in cities, while the latest projections suggest that this proportion will have risen to 50% by 2030. This rapid urbanisation will require governments to invest in the expansion of housing capacity, better infrastructure, energy and healthcare facilities, ICT services, water management and sanitation.

South African Sustainability Week 2014 - Sustainable Energy Seminar

This June will see the next annual staging of Sustainability Week, a multi sector event that is a highlight on the national green economy calendar, providing key stakeholders with a platform from which to learn and engage with thought leaders and relevant business and government networks. The event consists of no less than eight conferences and seminars and one large exhibition, and takes place at the CSIR International Convention Centre, City of Tshwane from 17th to 19th June 2014.

At Dubai conference, experts see a green economy driven by technology, finance

Dubai is not the unlikeliest of venues for a major international conference on the future of the “green economy”, but it perhaps comes close. Arriving from the air, oil drilling platforms punctuate the darkness of the Persian Gulf like tiny floating candles. The darkness ends at the shores of the United Arab Emirates, where the busiest airport on Earth greets arrivals to one of its most unique metropolises. Dubai is one of the UAE’s two flagship cities, along with the capital, Abu Dhabi, and with over two million inhabitants the country’s largest.
