COP21 Paris

In 2015, France will be chairing the 21st Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP21/CMP11), which will be held in Paris in late 2015. This Conference is a crucial event, because it needs to result in a new international climate agreement, applicable to all countries.

UNIDO and REEEP map out deeper cooperation on sustainable development

LI Yong, Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and Martin Hiller, Director General of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) met this week in Vienna to discuss intensifying the cooperation between the two organizations; the aim is to jointly promote sustainable pathways for developing countries to reduce poverty and develop their industrial base.

Government of New Zealand

Through the Ministry for Economic Development (succeeded in July 2012 by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment), the Government of New Zealand has co-funded several REEEP projects in the Pacific region. The mission of the new combined Ministry is to be a catalyst for a high-performing economy by developing and delivering policy, services, advice and regulation for businesses to support economic growth.
