COP22 Side Event Accelerating Investment Low Carbon Climate Resilience Africa

This side event, organised by the Private Finance Action Network (PFAN) with the participation of REEEP in its function as PFAN executing partner, represents an opportunity for thought leaders to exchange views and experience on issues pertaining to facilitating investment in low carbon, climate resilient projects and businesses in Africa. The discussion will focus on ways and means to scale up efforts in meeting the climate commitments of the countries in the region. Key stakeholders – policy makers, financiers, as well as representatives from international organizations – will interact on salient issues around delivering technical assistance combined with appropriate financing to foster climate technologies deployment.

Equity and inclusion in disaster risk reduction: building resilience for all

This paper, by the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) and the Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) builds on the recently produced ‘The future framework for disaster risk reduction: a guide for decision-makers’. This new module brings together evidence on opportunities raised by adopting an inclusive approach to ensure effective DRR. The paper makes the case for increased attention to wider issues of vulnerability, inclusion and empowerment, which are needed to assist policy-makers and international agencies to negotiate the successor agreement to the HFA.

REEEP participates in special event on stakeholder engagement to fast track grid projects in India

The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), in association with Department for International Development, UK (DFID) REEEP as knowledge partner, organized a special event on stakeholder engagement to fast track grid connected projects under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM) on February 5th, during the Delhi Sustainable Development Summit (DSDS). This event was part of a broader consultation to develop a roadmap for the larger and faster implementation program on solar energy sector, supported by DFID, TERI and REEEP.
