CTI PFAN is a multilateral, public-private partnership initiated by the CTI in cooperation with the Expert Group on Technology Transfer (EGTT) of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
Following the success of the last three Regional Forums in Asia, AFCEF-4 will bring together leading clean energy entrepreneurs and investors, fund managers and financiers that specialize in Asia’s clean energy sector. AFCEF-4, featuring a business plan competition employing the methodology of the Climate Technology Initiative Private Finance Advisory Network (CTI PFAN), will showcase 10 of the most promising clean energy investment opportunities in Asia.
Ten specially selected clean and renewable energy projects from around Asia will present their business plans at the Forum. They have been selected for their commercial viability, social and environmental benefits from over 50 project proposals and have all received intensive coaching from CTI PFAN professional advisors.
The projects, with a total aggregate investment value in excess of USD 164 million, seek to raise financing for deployment of a range of clean and renewable technologies including biomass, hydro, solar, wind, biogas and energy access. The projects are to be implemented in India, Vietnam, Philippines, Nepal and Thailand. Together these projects have an estimated combined GHG emission reduction potential of over 0.4 million tonnes of CO² equivalent per annum.
AFCEF-4 will be a great opportunity to access a select group of clean energy projects with high profit potential, verified environmental and development benefits, which are ready for investment. It also provides an opportunity to network with those entrepreneurs, project developers and other market participants as well as learn more about the market for clean energy investment and financing in Asia. Over 221 clean energy projects are currently included in the CTI PFAN Project Development Pipeline. Already 42 projects have achieved financial closure with over US$507 million of investment raised.
