Climate action requires a tremendous step-change in investment in the global energy system. REEEP is pleased to partner with GWEC - Global Wind Energy Council for an evening of networking and debate on financing clean energy solutions.

A tremendous step-change in innovation and investment is required to address the urgent challenge of accelerating climate change. This invite-only event will convene 400 key stakeholders across energy, finance and policy for an evening of networking and debate on the energy transition. The evening is supported by MHI Vestas, and held in association with REEEP as well as RE100, RenewableUK, and SolarPower Europe.
The dinner will be solutions-oriented, highlighting the role of key transition technologies and addressing major challenges in market design, transmission and financing. Bringing together a range of clean energy technologies, the event will also address the imperatives for oil and gas companies and investors to become Paris-aligned and transition to a low-carbon world.
London has long-served as a leading financial centre in the world, and is at the heart of the conversation on decarbonising the global economy. Our ambition is for this evening to form the nucleus of a network that can transform investment in and deployment of renewable energy in the leadup to the COP26 summit in the UK in November this year.
What to expect:
- An invite-only reception and dinner with 400 key actors in the energy transition, across renewable energy, finance, the public sector and international institutions
- Keynote speakers from governments and international institutions leading on climate action
- A conversation with Dr. Eddie O’Connor, Chairman of Mainstream Renewable Power and founder of SuperNode, Philippe Kavafyan, CEO of MHI Vestas, and other key stakeholders, on how we can accelerate investment to maintain a 1.5°C pathway, moderated by Tina Davis*, Managing Editor of Energy and Commodities at Bloomberg US
- Network-building and ideation
Tickets will be released in April to those who have been invited to attend the dinner. For any questions about the event, please contact letd [at] gwec.net.
