POSTPONED: 6th ARE Energy Access Investment Forum in Lusaka

17-03-2021 to 18-03-2021, Lusaka, Zambia

Here is the official statement from the Alliance for Rural Electrification regarding the postponement of the 6th ARE Energy Access Investment Forum:

''As you probably have heard in the news, the Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) outbreak has been declared a public health emergency of international concern by the WHO.

As the conference organiser, your health and safety are our top priority and we want all conference participants to have a great experience at the 6th Energy Access Investment Forum.

In light of the transitory global situation with 2019-nCoV and the precautionary measures implemented by the Zambia Ministry of Health to quarantine travellers from affected countries, ARE has decided to postpone its key spring event to a later date this year.''

REEEP will be represented at the event by Sabera Khan, Senior Liaison for Beyond the Grid Fund for Africa (BGFA) and Gender Ambassador for PFAN, who will discuss the BGFA project, and John Tkacik, REEEP's Director of Energy Analytics, who will be a member of the ARE Awards 2020 jury.

The Forum offers the opportunity:

  • for companies to showcase their innovative off-grid solutions, products and services to investors and partners at the exhibition;

  • for key public sector players to present their upcoming funding and de-risking programmes and policy initiatives;

  • to tailor and personalise the conference according to participants’ priorities;

  • to find business partners and advance your projects through the B2B matchmaking session; and

  • to discuss major sector trends and topics in the off-grid energy markets in Africa, where 95% of the rural population have no access to modern energy services.

To intensify the exchange with players from and outside Africa, ARE will also hold its Annual General Meeting in conjunction with the Forum the day before.
