On 5-7 July 2021, the Vienna Energy Forum 2021 (VEF) will be held virtually to facilitate a multi-sectoral, multi-stakeholder and inter-disciplinary dialogue on sustainable energy for inclusive development and productive capacities.
REEEP is organising a side event "Green Banks: Scaling Up Investments in Clean Energy and Energy Access in Developing Countries” at the Vienna Energy Forum 2021 on 5 July 2021 from 13:30 – 14:30 CEST.
The discussion will involve high-level representatives of the Development Bank of Zambia (DBZ), Coalition for Green Capital, SouthBridge Group and the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) and will be moderated by REEEP's Director General Magdalena Kouneva.
The panel will explore the potential of the Green Bank model to scale up climate finance in developing countries, in particular in Africa, and the requirements for Green Banks to fit the specific conditions of these markets as significant opportunities exist in Africa in distributed renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy access due to improved technology and business methods.
