The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) - the German Development Agency - is a federal enterprise and key implementer for the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. GIZ is also engaged in international education work around the globe.

GIZ supported REEEP in a vital extension to the reegle Thesaurus, which was expanded to include terms relating climate services and adaptation measurement and evaluation. More recently, GIZ has supported the project Business Cases for Milk Cooling, which analysed dairy value chains in India and Kenya and identified high-potential clean energy interventions for milk cooling.
