The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) announced today that it has appointed Camilla Chalmers as its new Director of Development, succeeding Eva Oberender. In this position, Chalmers will focus on widening the scope of cooperation with current donors and on identifying and pursuing new business and cooperation opportunities for the Partnership.
She will also lead REEEP’s participation in consortia that apply for major EU and international tenders. Chalmers has been with REEEP since February 2006, and during that time has been the driving force behind most of the Partnership’s marketing activities.
Prior to joining REEEP, she spent 13 years working in account management at various international advertising agencies including Saatchi, Ogilvy & Mather and Lowe Worldwide, shaping the marketing strategies and advertising outputs for global client companies. She holds a Master’s Degree from Oxford University.
“I’m thrilled to accept this opportunity!” Chalmers said, “Under Martin Hiller’s leadership, we’ve mapped out a new strategy for the organisation, and I’m chomping at the bit to help go out and scale up clean energy solutions in developing countries and emerging markets. It’ll also be a huge pleasure to continue working with the teams in Vienna and the Regional Secretariats.”
“Camilla is the ideal person for this position,” said Martin Hiller, REEEP’s Director General. “She knows the Partnership inside out. She’s got the drive and the guts to set ambitious goals – and has a unique knack for achieving them with a combination of charm and persistence. Her role is essential for guaranteeing that REEEP’s positive impact on clean energy markets continues to grow. It is a pleasure to bring her into the REEEP management team.”
