REEEP’S director General Martin Hiller chaired a lively panel discussion at a high-level clean energy forum hosted by the Government of Ghana: "Paving the Way for Sustainable Energy for All in West Africa through Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency"

The high-level conference ran from 29-31 October 2012 in Accra, Ghana, and was jointly organized by Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Regional Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE), the Global Forum for Sustainable Energy (GFSE), and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
The conference consisted of two plenary sessions and a total of six workshops on topics ranging from financing renewable energy in developing countries to energy efficient lighting and clean cookstoves.
Martin Hiller chaired the discussion in Session 6 with an impressive range of panelists: John Wasielewski, US State Department; Daniel Schroth, African Development Bank (AfDB); Marisa Olano, Director of International Department, Spanish Institute for Energy Diversification and Savings (IDAE); Robert Zeiner, Diretor of International Programs and Projects, Austrian Development Agency (ADA); Rana Gonheim, UNIDO; Venkata Ramana Putti, Senior Energy Specialist, Sustainable Enegy Department, World Bank.
