Background
The selected Pacific Island Countries (PICs) of the Marshall Islands, Palau, Samoa and Vanuatu have developed and adopted energy policies, and energy action plans as part of past regional assistance provided by SOPAC through the Pacific Islands Energy Policy and Strategic Action Planning (PIEPSAP) project.
One area identified and prioritised in the respective member country strategic energy action plans are the development and application of energy efficiency (EE) and energy conservation (EC) programmes.
However the implementation of these plans/strategies has been an on-going challenge for the selected PICs.
